Edit 02OCT09: I didn't realise until now, but the colours were distoreted as though the file had been turned into a PNG or something crazy. So now I've reuploaded the "good" version, and am hoping this will fix the abnormal look to my picture. It is also my first deviation that I have decided to ask for critique on
* Holy flammin' enlgish MUFFINS! I've finally finished this peice. It took forever, but I learnt so much making it. It's the first "real" picture I've made using a tablet (I said "reaL" because the art meme doesn't count imo). Original lineart that I made for this is here: [link] This is Mokka the Ork Weirdboy (he's a Goff). He's from my Ork story, The Orks of Tam'urt. This is an exerpt from the chapter "Mokka's New Apprentice": (yes I just copied and pasted this from the lineart description...) Ilgil looked Mokka up and down; the Weirdboy was huge. Ilgil had seen him around, but made it a priority to avoid him. Despite Mokka's age and size, he was relatively free of scars and dressed rather fanatically for a Goff. From his ears hung cow bells - the weight of the bells had stretched the Orks' pointed ears over time so they looked like elongated puppy ears. Two rows of studs began at the outer edge of his eyebrows following the contour of his brow until the stud rows met and ran parallel down to the tip of his snout. He hung a large obsidian nose ring from the centre of his nose and had replaced his bottom row of teeth with Obsidian replicas. Mokka wore a robe made from black cloth - the hood drooped over his back lazily, and chains wrapped around his torso. The ends of the chains dangled from random places; half ended with more cow bells. Beneath his robes, the Weirdboy's arms, hands, legs and feet were wrapped in grey cloth - it used to be white but was rarely cleaned. The most noticeable of all Mokka's features were his black tattoos which had been applied to his face; the Weirdboy looked as if his mascara was running like a tap from his eyes. Tattoos were forbidden in the Goff clan, but no one dared try to tell Mokka what he could and could not do. Even Kargust merely begrudged the Weirdboy, but never formally told him to remove the tattoos. ______________ Got a kinda scribbly look, but I liked that. It wasn't the colouring style I was originally aiming for, but it seemed to work, so I'm not complaining. Please full view ^^ Comments

I think doing any of the Tau would be hard; mach suits and robots are much harder to draw lol - if the lines aren't right, it'll make it look weird. But I'd really like to see you do some pics of your characters! (O'K'yos is a Tau, right? Or did get it wrong? -- In times of darkness, humour shall light the way! |
