I recently discovered a comment in my inbox thanking for a fave. That's fine, but please people (this is for those who come to my page because I've added your work to a fave collection):

:bulletred: Don't ADVERTISE your ARTWORKS on my PAGE.:bulletred:

That means no hyperlinking in your "thanks" comment to your artworks that I faved, or others you think I'll like or what have you. And no links to galleries, either, or similar stuff. Obviously, if it's in your signature, that's okay.

Me faving your stuff is enough advertising; your art will get seen randomly from tiem to time on my front page, and people browsing my faves will also see it. Do me a favor and just leave it at that. I could just remove your art from my faves if I see a comment like that after a very bad day.

I don't really mind linking the fav in question in the thanks, in fact some people I've faved, i've done so so long ago (some people don't seem to check their messages for months at a time!) that I've totally forgotten what I faved in the first place, and the link is actually quite helpful to me, but yeah, unless there's a specific reason, I don't like linking, or having someone link, their gallery, other works, someone else's gallery, their non DA website, etc...but I'll give em a pass on the original fav in question

I suppose some of it seems innocent enough, but I prefer not to have my page spammed with, essentially, other peoples advertisements. A simple thanks is okay, but I feel it's beyond thanks when people start linking to their art. Just imagine all the user pages their lniks end up on; it's like a virtual sticker. In that respect, to me, it is most deffinitely a type of advertising.
